Multicap was established in 1962 as a voluntary parent based community organisation by six families who could not obtain suitable support for their children with multiple disabilities. Today, several of these founding families still access Multicap's services along with over 500 others.
Multicap aims to provide the best possible services using the best possible model to suit the needs of individual people living with multiple disabilities within their local community. Our staff adopt a person centred approach to develop individualised program plans that focus on physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
Multicap operates our Accommodation Support from a mix of homes owned by the Department of Housing, private rentals, and our own. Specific fees and charges, and eligibility criteria apply to each of our Multicap Services
Australian Disability Enterprises service of Multicap, was established in 1991 to provide creative supported employment opportunities for people with disabilities specialising in Gift Shops & Studios, Packaging Services, Centre for Creative Arts, Art Therapy
Multicap offers a number of comprehensive Day and Post School Services at our Aspley, Eight Mile Plains, Mt Ommaney, Petrie, Nudgee, and Kuraby sites.
Multicap also provides Respite services,Social Support Services, Music Therapy and Sensory Therapy programs.
