Canine Helpers is a community support organisation that provides assistance to people with a disability through the training and placement of different types of assistance dogs, including:
•Service Dogs for people with physical disabilities;
•Hearing Dogs for people who are hearing impaired;
•Therapy Dogs for people with many other types of disabilities;
•Facility dogs which work in Special Schools and other group settings.

Canine Helpers is the first non-profit organisation accredited under the new Queensland Legislation as a Certified Assistance Dog Training Organisation.

Canine Helpers is an income tax exempt charity, and donations over $2 are tax deductible. We rely solely on volunteers to perform and coordinate all aspects of our services. We do not receive government funding.

Canine Helpers is a member of Assistance Dogs International, a conglomerate of a large number of organisations that train Assistance Dogs all around the world. Canine Helpers has adopted many proven practices from these groups that have gone before us. Assistance Dogs International also sets the standards by which all of our Assistance Dogs are chosen, trained, and accredited.
