Fragile X syndrome

Fragile X syndrome (FXS or FRAXA), or Martin-Bell syndrome, is genetic and results in a spectrum of characteristic physical and intellectual limitations and emotional and behavioral features which range from severe to mild in manifestation.  It is one of the most common causes of inherited mental retardation and neuropsychiatric disease in human beings, affecting as many as one in 2000 males and one in 4000 females.
